Sunny Happy Anniversary

Day 2 of my blog, hope I'm not boring you already?

Yesterday finished off with a teeny tiny 10 at Boxercise in Totnes. I guess people are away on holiday, but I hate it when it's so quiet. There were 2 new girls there who seemed to enjoy it.

This mornings PT cancelled due to an injury so I was left with a slightly chilled out morning before my second client of the day.

After returning from Marldon I had enough time to go for another run, which leads me to some very important things to remember!
Nutrition when exercising - you need adequate carbs to give you the energy to train. This morning I had scrambled eggs for breakfast, and not porridge and it was noticeable on my run, I felt like I had no energy. I did however manage to run the Totnes 10k route in reverse though.
I like to change things about otherwise I get bored, I have a short attention span, that's why my PT sessions are all so random and never ever the same, it's as much for me as it is for you!

Another client took on the 20 Exercises of summer #1 for a second time, this time in Borough Park in Totnes, the first time it was on the beach in extreme heat. She enjoyed it more I think this time!

I've had a big lunch to tie me over now through Kickboxing in Newton Abbot and then on down to Plymouth to train. Long day!

The anniversary I mention in the title? ell, today is my 9th year in Devon! And I love it here, I am here to stay!

Making history.....

As a bit of a blogger in my 'normal' life, I thought I would do some little blogs to share with you all my daily experiences running Fighting Fit Devon. Insights into what I have to do and when, and just how much of a struggle a new business is.
I am doing this mainly in celebration of my 2 years of business, which I celebrate on 27th September 2013.

So, here it is.......
Monday 19th August 2013 and this mornings client cancelled due to prior engagements, so I had a late start and a tiny lie in.

I then got to train my best friend in my little Boxing Gym, 'The Box Room' she was brilliant and I'm glad to see the room getting good use.
I stayed in there for a further 40 minutes doing some work on my arms. You see, being a trainer I have to lead by example, if I don't look or fit the part there is no use me doing it. I have to be better, faster, stronger so that I can then impart this training knowledge onto my clients.

Then home for a bit of session planning, then lunch.

Some more planning and I decided that a run was in order. I went out with Rob Starbuck, my partner in fund-raising-running crime, and realised that the only running I've done recently is with clients, and my pace had slowed. So off for a little push to see what I can do with some pressure.

I decided on an 8.5k, flat start and then up Moat Hill and on to Totnes Down Hill. Those of you who know this road will know just what was laid ahead of me, and today, I did it in my fastest time ever, no stopping, no walking, just hardcore running. Breath in 2 steps, breath out 2 steps, keep it going just focus on getting to the top. I was running at a level 9 and by the time I finally got to the top I lost my lunch! Yep, that's a level 9, and a complete waste of salmon too!

In my mind though, to be able to push myself to that ridiculous level means that I can fully understand what my clients go through with me. All of my sessions are tried and tested by me and I push myself to those limits that I push my clients to.

I got a stitch on the back road, but carried on and pegged it down the by-pass to home.

And here I am, after a cool down stretch and a pint of water, I'm sat writing this for you.
The rest of the day will be having a second lunch, walking the dogs, more session planning and then tonight Boxercise at Totnes Pavilions. Let's hope that not too many people have gone on holiday and I have good numbers.

Speak soon.... thanks for reading!
